MG GAT-X105 Launcher/Sword Strike (Gao Gao)

Hi guys, due to many request, here the 010 of Gao Gao, MG Launcher/Sword Strike ;) This is the reproduction from Gao Gao so the plastics quality and molding is relatively better then the older production ;)

Manufacturer: Gao Gao/TT Hongli
Scale: 1/100
Grade: MG
Origin: Gundam SEED
Price: RM85 (Those who are interested can contact me)

Please take note that I did minor detailing panel lining with some metallic colors so please do not expect that to be pre-colored on your kit ;)

Section 1: Runners

Detailing are pretty good, and plastics quality is nice too ;) I would say it is up to 95% as good compare to the original.

Section 2: Decals & Accessories

There are a set of dry-stickers and a set of der-transfer decals come with the kit, as similar to Bandai. The dry-stickers woulld take a little additional effort for trimming but still pretty decent. The dry-transfers are comparable to the original ;)

There are 2 screws for the shoulder joints, and a wire for the Panzer-Eisen (the Rocket Anchor).

Section 3: Weaponry

Anti-Vessel Sword "Schwert-Gewehr"

This is the main weapon of the Sword Weapon System, the 15.78m Anti-Vessel Sword. At the side is the Beam Boomerang "Mydas Messer".

High-Impulse Gun "AGNI"

The main arsenal of the Launcher Weapon System, the 320mm High-Impulse Gun "AGNI".

Section 4: Skeleton Build

The Legs

Articulations are very good for the knees, ankles and feet! The only disappointment is the hips are still using ball joint (same in Bandai) that somehow limits its articulations.

The Waist

Pretty straight-forward ;)

The Chest

The pull-out mechanism would allow the shoulder joints to be pulled out for more dynamic posing. The neck employed a dual-joints head could tilt forward and backward pretty well ;)

The Shoulders

Straight-forward build :)

The Arms

Excellent articulations for the arms!

The Head

Parts separations is nicely done ;)

Section 5: The Legs

Pretty straight-forward build with very good articulations. Parts separations are well done with no snap-fit issue, and the articulations are not affected by the outer armour ;)

Section 6: Waist

A very nice waist ;) Parts separations are good, but like the original, the skirt armor will hinder the turning of the waist.

Section 7: Chest

Pretty straight forward build. Snap-fitting pretty well here too ;)

Section 8: Shoulders

Pretty straight-forward build too ;)

Section 9: Arms

Fantastic arms ;) No hindrance of movement here. My only complain is the on the design, where the palm does not have any peck to hold the weapons in place... I do hope that multiple hands would be included like Strike E + IWSP or Strike Noir.

Section 10: Semi-Completed Mecha

Just to show comparison with the mecha half naked ;)

Section 11: Strike, with Armor Schneider

Basic Strike Gundam with Assult Knife "Armor Schneider".

Section 12: Strike, with Beam Rifle and Shield

Basic Strike Gundam with Beam Rifle and Shield.

Section 13: Sword Strike

Strike Gundam equiped with Sword Weapon System that comes with the Anti-Vessel Sword "Schwert-Gewehr" as the main weaponry, Beam Boomerang "Mydas Messer" mounted on the left shoulder, and Rocket Anchor "Panzer-Eisen" on a small shield attached to the left forearm.

* I actually forgotten to attach backpack and the Beam Boomerang to the shoulder armor during photo-ops :P

Section 14: Launcher Strike

Strike Gundam equiped with Launcher Weapon System that comes with the 320mm High-Impulse Gun "AGNI", and the 120mm Anti-Vessel Multi-Barrel Gun & 350mm Gun-Launcher Combo Unit mounted on the right shoulder.

The posing of the BIG gun is challenging but not very much a problem ;)

Section 15: Launcher+Sword Strike

Since the supporting accessories for Sword and Launcher are on left and right shoulders respectively, we could basically mount both onto Strike Gundam ;)

As for the backpack, since we need the support arm for the BIG gun, the Launcher backpack would need to be used. This means that the AVS could not be attached to the backpack without modding but it can be hold on hand without any issue ;)

Quick Review

Plastic Quality and Detailing

The plastic quality is the usual Gao Gao/TT Hongli quality. The detailing are nicely done.

Articulations

Articulations are very good!
  • Head/Neck: Good!
  • Shoulder: Excellent!
  • Arm/Elbow: Excellent!
  • Wrist: Normal.
  • Hand: Normal.
  • Waist: Normal-.
  • Skirt Armour: Normal-.
  • Hip/Tight: Normal.
  • Knee: Excellent.
  • Ankle: Normal+.
  • Feet: Good.

Looks and Feels

The detailing is pretty good and come close to 95% of the original! The snap-fit is very nicely done ;)

I actually didn't find any flaw in this bootleg as compare to the original except those already exist in the original such as the skirt armor hindering the turning of the waist.

Overall, this kit is very nice and could be a good replacement of the original since most of you would already have the Aile Strike Gundam and only looking at completing all 3 Striker Weapon Systems ;)

Still, for those of you who can afford, do buy original ;)

Fin :)

    1. Just use metallic green marker or gold marker to color the eye piece... forget about the sticker ;)
