Deathscythe Hell (Dragon Momoko)

Hi there :) Since I have done both Supernova Nataku and Sandrock Custom, I decided to do this Deathscythe Hell from Dragon Momoko ;)

Manufacturer: Dragon Momoko
Scale: 1/100
Grade: MG
Series: Wing Gundam
Price: TBA

Section 1: Runners

The plastic is pretty nice on the first glance. The color finishing and parts separation is pretty nice. At the 1st glance, the inner-frame is pretty similar to the original Bandai with extra detailing that are very nicely done.

Snap-fitting experience for the standard inner-frame is very nice, and pretty good for the newly developed parts except a few that need a little bit of trimming :)

The only flaw is some not-so-tight joints.

Section 2: Decals and Stickers

This kit comes with a piece of water decals and a foil stickers.

The quality of both is pretty nice :)

Section 3: Feet

The feet are pretty straight forward and standard for the Wing series. Detailing and parts separation is done nicely, with good snap-fitting experience :)

Section 4: Legs

The inner-frame is standard for Wing series. The fitting of the parts are pretty pleasant.

On the exterior, the detailing and parts separation is nicely done. The legs would look amazing only with simple panel lining :)

One need to have some patience with the knee as it need a bit of force to fit in place.

Section 5: Waist and Lower Body

The waist unit is straight forward but is separated to quite a number of parts, and some are very sharp. The detailing and parts separation is pretty awesome :)

I would add silver panel lining but just ran out of marker.

The lower body.

Section 6: Chest and Torso

The inner-frame is the standard Wing series chest and torso, but the detailing and parts separation of the exterior is fantastically done!

I love the chest piece :)

Section 7: Shoulders

The shoulders looks simple but not in actual fact. The front tip of the shoulder piece can be opened outward.

Section 8: Arms

Arms are pretty nicely done, but the joints are a little loose at the elbow.

This kit comes with 4 pairs of hands, but the detailing is pretty crappy especially the closed fists and those weapon-holding hands. The wrist joints also very loose.

Section 9: Backpack

The backpack is nicely done :)

Section 10: Head

Very nice parts separation. The head looks amazing too ;)

Section 11: Weapons and Accessories

The Twin Scythe has and option to swap for short handle, long handle, and a bend handle for various action posing.

Instead of disassemble every time to swap the handle, I trimmed the handles a bit to allowed instant swapping :)

The Assault Shield is pretty nice done with excellent parts separation.

Section 12: Basic Posing

Basic standing pose without the Active Cloak.

Simple action pose with Twin Scythe and Assault Shield.

Section 13: Active Cloak

Very nicely design with excellent parts separation. One need to be careful not to break the peg while playing with the various forms.

Active Cloak, fully covered mode.

Section 14: Action Posing with Active Cloak Deployed

Just don't break the pegs while playing :)

My Personal Experience

The inner-frame is a very standard and straight-forward Wing series MG kit, but the exterior is designed after the TV version of Deathscythe Hell with very nice detailing. I especially liked the Active Cloak and the gimmicks :)

Overall, it took me about 20 hours to complete this kit with review and photo-taking in mind; it should about 9 hours otherwise.

Unfortunately, the joints are somewhat on the not-so-tight side, so comparing to the Supernova Sandrock Custom. The detailing are fantastic, and colors, although in black, can actually be very nice with some silver panel-lining ;)

Overall Rating (Not giving points, just what I felt)

Assembly Experience: Good
Plastic Quality: Good
Parts Separation: Very good :)
Color: Very good :)
Detailing: Very good :)
Posing Possibility: Good ;)

Recommendation: Highly recommended :)
