Finally, I made time for my GP03S ;)
Origin: Gundam 0083 Stardust Memories
Price: 3500 Yen
Part 1: Core Fighter
The core fighter is nicely done! I would say that the 0083 series is having the best core fighter system of the decade (the time these kits are produced).
See for yourself ;)
Part 2: Core Block
As most of you might have guessed, the core fighter above is transformable into the core block of GP03S. To my pleasant surprise, this kit comes with another core block that is not transformable... as we need the core block in order to have the Gundam, this "gift" allow us to display both the Gundam and the Core Fighter together, which is very thoughtful of Bandai.
Part 3: Legs
As you might have seen in the pictures below, the hip is using ball-joint, which only provides moderate side movement. The knee articulations are not bad and the ankle is decent too. Parts separation are nicely done too.
Part 4: Torso
Nothing much to mention about the torso ;p
Torso + Legs ;)
Part 5: Thrusters
One of the special feature of GP03S is the big thrusters are the back of the hip. These thrusters are connected with polycaps and allows slight movement which is great for pose-ability ;)
These thrusters are beautiful!
Part 6: Upper Body
As you can see, the upper body, if minus the core block, is actually pretty simple :p
Upper Body + Core Block + Torso + Legs + Thrusters ;)
Pretty solid already at this stage ;)
Part 7: Arms & Shoulders
The arms are another special feature of GP03S :) The extension feature is pretty nicely done and is pretty tough too ;)
On the other hand, the shoulders are a bit plain :p
Part 8: The Head
Well... its the head :p
The Complete Gundam ;)
Part 9: Posing
With beam rifle and shield ;)
Part 10: Happy Family :D
GP01Fb, GP02A and GP03S ;)
It's a Bandai, so obviously the plastic is pretty nice ;)
- Head/Neck: Usual ball-joint.
- Shoulder: Fantastic! Very highly pose-able.
- Arm/Elbow: Normal.
- Arm Extension: Very good!
- Wrist: Normal.
- Hand: Normal.
- Waist: Normal, can turn left and right.
- Skirt Armour: Usual ;)
- Hip/Tight: Pretty good... just a bit limited for side-way movement due to the ball-joint.
- Knee: Good.
- Ankle: Normal.
Looks and Feels
Well, GP03S does not look as good compare to GP01 and GP02... GP03 must come with the "D" to look nice! For the kit itself, I would say it worth evey penny I paid for ;)
